Miami Ink

Some of you might have known about my fascination with tattoos. Needless to say, this is one of my fave shows on Channel 16. For someone who can't draw for nuts, it just amazes me what ppl can do with skin for canvas.

So, I was gushing at a cool tribal tattoo on a passerby from my bus seat when my colleague next to me solemnly commented, "Eh, there's a verse in the Bible that mentions that you shouldn't tattoo yourself. Wait, let me find it." Whips out Bible, flip flip flip, then "NAH! For you:"

"You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord." Leviticus 19:28 - NKJV

All that being said, the only reason I'd get one is when I have a memory to capture in a work of art that I am prepared to carry around on me permanently.
Of which, I have yet to find or mentally prepare myself for (not since SanFranHam told me about his fren hating her crucifix, merely weeks after it was freshly imprinted on her).
Besides, I've pretty much gotten used to keeping those moments embedded in my heart

When I don't blog for a long period of time, it's because:

there are people reading this, I'd rather not tell the story to

I am tired of explaining myself to people who already know what polished & constructed answers to give without actually listening to me.

I'm so tied down & tired out with work that the last thing I want to do is to re-enact it.

And most of the time,

I'm just hurt beyond words to describe it.

Deal with my broken heart, God.

16th February

This year is significantly different from the previous years'.

It's not just that I'm born in the Year of the Pig & that DaNianChu1 coincides with the day itself...

It's how God opened my eyes to see how much I'm loved...

A simple lunch/dinner (booboo on how I came to know about that one *wink at mermaid*) with the cell group, the customary & painstakingly prepared bdae card & cg present... A dinner & drinks w my dear uni frens, these will more than suffice, really.

Little did I know they went all out... for me.

While waiting for the rest to settle the tab, I tried the buttons on Shaun's tee.
Alas, neither did he eject into the sky nor did he get struck by lightning *sheesh*

As we're leaving after dinner, Violet came up to me & asked how's Vdae.
I barely got out my first sentence when she gave me that agonized look & dragged me away, with Juan trailing 'helplessly' along. Needless to say, everyone was "bewildered".

When Violet's story got longer & more serious (& I thot, the subject itself being so urgent & way too serious to be treated lightly), Juan interrupted & said apologetically that a number of them had gone home cos there's no aft-dinner activity but the rest are heading towards HMV first. So we started snacking at Macdonald's (!!!!!) & continue my listening session with Violet "near to tears".

Then Gershon asked to talk to her. So we took the underpass & walked on past giraffe towards HMV. I was getting a tad irritated at how no one picked up my endless calls considering the situation.

& that's when I saw this:
